It's time for a new kind of financial consultant.

Your money. Your goals. Our help.

Choosing someone to manage your money shouldn't feel like a compromise.

We take good care of your money, but we also take care of you.

Our approach is surprisingly uncommon. Rather than doing what serves our interests — commissions, excessive fees, products that are good for us but not great for you — we believe trust, honesty and integrity should be delivered more than talked about.

Financial consulting is about people. Licenses and certifications are important (and we have them), but Squaw Island Investments pays special attention to your values, your goals, and your priorities.

Once we understand your financial goals and appetite for risk, we make recommendations for how to get the most from your money. We develop a unique strategy for each client, using a mix of equities, fixed-income and alternative investments (REITs, MLPs, and so on). And we'll help you create income from your assets.

Many individuals appreciate our ability to manage their investments, as well as their retirement accounts. We specialize in IRA and retirement rollovers, and can help you determine how life insurance fits into the picture — whether you already have a policy or need us to write it for you.

For corporations and small businesses, we will manage your 401K for your employees, and provide strategic support to your investment plans. We know the Finger Lakes region and can help you navigate through the unique challenges faced by business owners in this area.

The easiest way to get started is to fill out a simple form. We look forward to learning more about you.

Your communication with us is always confidential.

Unique Perspective

Bradley Cohen, Partner

Brad will be the first to tell you his background is atypical among financial professionals. He has a Jesuit education, Master's degree in Philosophy and a passport reflecting travel to more than 40 countries since college. But he's also extremely well-versed in money management strategies. It shapes the way he serves his clients, bringing them his global perspective, confident independence, and ability to understand and empathize at a human level. His maturity is a result of life experience and professional development.

Brad holds a Series 7 license, Series 63 & 65 licenses, and New York State insurance license. But after working for a brokerage firm, he wasn't willing to make the compromises necessary to work for someone else. So in 2010 he bet on himself and started Squaw Island Investments, partnering with the world's largest independent broker/dealer to give his clients the best options possible.

Allen Cohen, Partner

Allen works mainly with high-net-worth investors and companies, using a variety of money managers. He has been a successful broker for over 35 years, with experience as a Branch manager, working for Smith Barney and Royal Bank of Canada, as well as being an independent stock broker.

Philanthropy is a high priority for Allen, serving on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers & Big Sisters and Mercy Flight Central. He volunteers for and donates to several charities. Allen is especially proud of spearheading an effort to send a terminally-ill woman and her family on an all-expense-paid vacation to Disney World.

Our Approach

Listen. Listen. Plan. Measure. Repeat.

At Squaw Island, this isn't just a clever way to describe our work; we genuinely mean it. Our focus is on your story, your plans, your questions, and your success. So we listen first, and then listen more. Only then do we begin to suggest options and guide you toward the right solution. We closely monitor performance, keeping you informed and listening to your ongoing needs.
